1939: Married Veronica Punch.

1941: Elected to State parliament for ALP. He says his proudest achievements:
Launching the Princess of Tasmania. (roll-on, roll-off ferry)
Compulsory x-rays for TB.

1987: Died in Battery Point.

AJ White park is the perfect spot for a bit of fishing. Fairy penguins nest very close to here. Can be seen in summer at dusk when they return to their burrows if you are very lucky.

AJ White Park becomes alive at the weekend. It becomes full of sailors and rowers. They all park their cars near here and pass through AJ White Park heading for activity on the Derwent. After sailing or rowing and storing their craft many tired and satisfied people loiter around here drinking and eating.
